At Dauntsey Vale Link Scheme (DVLS), covering the villages of Brinkworth, Christian Malford, Dauntsey, Foxham, and Grittenham, we are dedicated to providing assistance to our rural community members in various ways.

 

Whether it's running errands, accompanying you to appointments, or simply offering companionship, our volunteers are here to lend a helping hand.

Feel free to request assistance with any task, even if it's not listed.

How We Work

Our volunteers generously offer their time at no cost to you. They are reimbursed for car mileage and any additional expenses incurred during tasks. All volunteers are DBS checked.

Contact our coordinators to explain your needs. We request at least 48 hours' notice to find a volunteer.

Task Completion

After the task is completed, an envelope is provided to you. Donations are voluntary and greatly appreciated.

Once your request is received, we allocate (wherever possible) a volunteer to assist.

Accounting
Expense Reimbursement

Volunteers submit expense claims, which are reimbursed promptly.

DVLS relies on the generous donations from our clients and top-up funding by way of grant from Parish Councils when needed.

What is the Dauntsey Vale Link Scheme?

The Dauntsey Vale Link Scheme is a team of dedicated volunteers committed to enhancing the quality of life in our rural community.

 

Established in October 2007, we are registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC), ensuring adherence to high standards. We are managed by a board of directors who are all volunteers, to maintain excellence and part of a network of 41 similar Link schemes across Swindon and Wiltshire, advised and coordinated by Community First

Become a Volunteer

If you have a few hours to spare each month and a desire to support your community, consider becoming a DVLS volunteer. Your skills and experience can truly make a difference in the lives of others. Plus, volunteering with us offers flexible hours, allowing you to decline tasks that don't fit your schedule. Additionally, liability insurance coverage for all volunteers.

    Clients can contact our coordinators by phone at 07563 769 549 to explain their needs. We kindly request at least 48-hours’ notice to allocate (wherever possible) a volunteer to assist you.
  • Are there any tasks not listed that DVLS can help with?
    Absolutely! While we provide a wide range of services including Good Neighbour and Medical tasks, shopping trips, and companionship, we are open to assisting with any task not mentioned above. Simply reach out to us with your request, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.
  • Is there a fee for the services provided by DVLS?
    No, there is no fee for the services provided by DVLS. However, clients have the option to give a voluntary donation upon completion of the task. Donations are greatly appreciated and contribute to sustaining our services.
  • How is DVLS funded?
    DVLS relies on the generous voluntary donations from our clients and top-up funding by way of grant from Parish Councils when needed.
  • How do I become a DVLS volunteer?

  • How are DVLS volunteers reimbursed for their expenses?
    Our volunteers generously offer their time free of charge. However, they are reimbursed for car mileage and any additional expenses incurred during tasks. Expenses are promptly reimbursed upon submission of the expenses claim form.
